Growing in Christ, challenging mind, body and spirit
Tena Koutou Parents and Friends

Camp was amazing!  It was a real privilege to hang out with such a great group of people.  We did snorkelling, orienteering, coasteering, abseiling, and high ropes.  And I found all of it easy - NOT!  Most people agreed the highlight was the trip on the Canterbury Cat where we saw dolphins, penguins, fur seals, and krill and experienced the swell of the Pacific Ocean.  All of the children pushed their boundaries and increased their overall confidence.  Thank you to our parents Paul and Richard, who, through their help, made it possible for us to go.

Thank you also to our swimming coach parents - Helen, Catherine, and Sarah for their coaching expertise during our swimming lessons and also our two basketball coaches - Sarah and Shelley for the work they're doing with the basketball teams.

Our Students
We've had some lovely feedback about student behaviour.  The captain of the Canterbury Cat and a passenger commented on the great behaviour and attitude of our students.  The passenger said, "I was dismayed to see I'd booked on the trip with a party of school children but your children have been wonderful, they are lovely children."  Our C Bay swimming coaches wrote, "We found your children well behaved and a pleasure to teach which showed through the progress made in their sessions."  We are very proud of them.

Life Education
This week we have the Life Education van visiting us (Harold the giraffe).  The Life Ed program will reinforce the learning we have been doing on healthy communication and relationships.

Special Character - we need your help
We are due to have our three yearly special character review on 5th and 6th April.  This is like an ERO review but for our special character.  The reviewers would like to meet with a group of parents for a conversation on Tuesday 5th at 2.15pm.  I could hand pick a group of people who I think would say lots of lovely things but I want a real review so I'm putting it out to you.  Please offer half an hour of your time to meet with our reviewers and discuss the school.  I know that if you have any concerns or issues you would have already spoken to me about them.  So if you'd like to offer your help with this please let me know, we would be most grateful.

School/Parish Mass
This Saturday, 19 March, is our school/parish mass.  Children need to meet on the tennis courts at 5.45pm wearing school uniform. We are celebrating Palm Sunday where Jesus was triumphantly welcomed into Jerusalem as King.  There is a video on this on the RE blog: http://stjoplptre.blogspot.co.nz/p/jesus-for-parents.html

Please bring a plate of finger food to share after mass (it can be brought in when mass ends).

Ma te Atua e manaaki, God Bless
